Established on April 1, 1980, our specialty is the practice of creditors’ rights, collection law, and enforcement of judgments. We provide legal collection, litigation, and judgment enforcement services in Illinois (headquartered in Chicago), Wisconsin, Michigan, Kentucky, and Ohio.
Markoff Law has also built a strong network of collection firms across the country that we utilize as local counsel for our national and regional clients. Through our relationships across the country, we can play the role of “forwarder” to the benefit of our clients. This provides our clients with a one-stop solution for all remittances, status reporting, and additional communications as they all funnel through Markoff Law.

With over 40 years of experience in commercial and consumer collections, the firm and its principals have a state and national reputation as thought leaders in creditors’ rights law. In addition to involvement in numerous association boards and committees, members of the firm have served as President/Chair of the National Creditors Bar Association (NCBA), the Illinois Creditors’ Bar Association (ILCBA), the Michigan Creditors Bar Association (MCBA) and the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE). Markoff Law is also a founding member of the Creditors’ Bar Coalition of Illinois (CBCI), a group lobbying on behalf of creditors in the state of Illinois.
